Dynamic of historical, cultural and heritage tourism - India Kanishka Pub. 2007 - vii, 446 p.

This book on Historical, Cultural and Heritage Tourism takes into account the new dynamics which is unfolding in this study area. It is a fact that the growth of tourism as a social phenomenon, and the tourism indust as an economic enterprise, have been dramatic during the last half of the twentieth century. No doubt, tourism, today, has become a major economic force in many countries and regions world-wide, altering people's work patterns, living standards, income distributions and financial prospects. At the same time, the expansion of tourist activities has coincided with the significant cultural, political and environmental changes identified with post-industrial technology of the past few decades. The hypotheses which has been followed throughout this book is the fact that tourism can be studied, it has a history and a literature; it has an internal structure with operating principles, it waxes and wanes and is highly sensitive to external influences, in particular, the cultural factors, and it can be analysed both in terms of economic and social transformations.
