<br/><br/> There are currently two different frameworks used to develop web sites with ASP.NET 4. The first framework is referred to as the ASP.NET Web Forms framework. The ASP.NET Web Forms framework has been in use since the first version of ASP.NET was released in 2002. As such, it is well tested and quite robust. The other framework is the ASP.NET MVC framework. The ASP.NET MVC framework is much newer; it was released in 2009. Many programmers prefer the ASP.NET MVC framework because it gives them more control than traditional ASP.NET Web Forms.
